Food pantry and hot meals in Ayer

Ayer/Shirley/Littleton community...you are the best EV-AH! Thank you so much for supporting the hot meals and food pantry at Stone Soup Kitchen Ministries. And we have some great news for you. We received a grant from the New England Grassroots Environment Fund which will help us to do even more!

Together, the generous donations from the Ayer, Shirley, and Littleton communities, and this grant will enable us to continue having a hot potluck meal to serve an increasing number of guests each week, and will allow us to purchase specific foods and supplies that we need to make sure our weekly pantry bags are nutritionally balanced and bigger than they used to be. Before, we were merely an emergency food pantry, with enough stock to help someone for 2 to 3 days. Now, we believe that with good management on our part, we will be able to make sure that our guests have much more than that.

Please help us to get the word out to our neighbors who may be struggling, some for the first time ever. We will be "open" on Friday evenings from 5:00 to 5:30 (when we do our grab and go potluck) and on Saturday mornings from 10 to noon (when the drive up pantry is available). The address is Living Water Fellowship, 41 Littleton Road, Ayer MA 01432

We would not be able to do any of this without the loving support of our community, the Ayer Shop n' Save, and New England Grassroots Environment Fund grant. Special thanks this week go out to Emily McClure, Gwen Darden, Jake S, Sonya Tavilla, Joanna West, Mike Velardi, Janet Providakes, Roger Perry, Kathleen Oosterman, Martha Pierce + the Ayer Community School, Susan Dempsey, Seana Hebert + Ty, Michelle Scott, Lauren Metzler, Kristin Logan, Jeremy Silverthorne + Mindi Titus, Shiela Salwa Carman (who made sure we knew about the grant!), and Rebecca Myers.

SATURDAY DRIVE-BY FOOD PANTRY

We will be having our "drive-by food pantry" on Saturday morning from 10 to noon at Living Water Fellowship. There will be prepacked bags of ready-to-eat foods that will cater to different family configurations and can be customized for specific needs. And yes, we have toilet paper! You will not be getting out of your car...just pull up, and we will pack up what you need and bring it out.

We have no residency or income restrictions. We all owe a deep debt of thanks to Ayer Shop n' Save and the entire Ayer/Shirley community...so many people that we have gotten confused!

If you bring things to donate during that 10 to noon time period, please take them to the door with the ramp, not the door where people are picking up their bags (look for the sign). Other times to bring donations are Friday nights from 4 to 5:30 and Wednesdays from 10 to noon. Thank you, and we love you all 💕

The Ayer-Shirley community ROCKS!

The big regional pantry closed down on Friday (April 3) and we were all stunned.  But, Stone Soup Kitchen Ministries put out the call and you answered.  We live in the best community in the entire world!  Thank you, and we love you all.

Our pantry will now be open every Saturday morning from 10 to noon.  There are no residency or income requirements, but amounts are limited.  Thank you for understanding.  This is a rapidly changing situation, and we will do our best to keep up with the needs of our beloved community.

If you need help, please leave a comment here rather than calling the church.  No one is currently in the office to take calls.   All comments are moderated, and will not be published for your privacy.
